We decided to do a project to help children in need in
the school setting. In order to do this we had to ask for donations and order supplies. We assembled backpacks and donated them to a local preschool. The backpacks were designed to provide students with the essentials needed to be successful in school. Some of the items we included were notebooks, pencils, glue, etc.
Project Highlights When we donated the backpacks it made me realize all of the efforts worth it. To see the look on the childrens faces was heartwarming. Each child was so excited and grateful of a small backpack filled with simple objects. One little boy came up to me and said thank you in passing, almost as if he didnt want anyone else to see. This made me think of all the small things we take for granted and how doing this small jester made an impact on these childrens lives.
From My Journal Once I heard the children say thank you I knew every effort of asking donations and every hour I spent creating the backpacks were worth it.
