THE YULEBA AGGREGATES

Aggregates are broadly a category of coarse

particulate material including sand, gravel,
crushed stone, slag, recycled concrete and
geosynthetic aggregates.
Aggregates are the most mined materials in the
world and while a lot of agregates are used for
their physical properties like concrete or
btichemum aggregates other like the Yuleba
aggregates are decorative. The Yuleba
aggregates have a gemstone quality are
uncrushed and have been widely used for
exposed concrete surfaces and landscaping.

Due to the relatively high hydraulic conductivity
value as compared to most soils, aggregates are
widely used in drainage applications such as
foundation and French drains, septic drain
fields, retaining wall drains, and road side edge
drains.

Aggregates are also used as base material
under foundations, roads, and railroads. In
other words, aggregates are used as a stable
foundation or road/rail base with predictable,
uniform properties (e.g. to help prevent
differential settling under the road or building),
or as a low-cost extender that binds with more
expensive cement or asphalt to form concrete.

The Yuleba deposit has Petrified wood literally
"wood turned into stone" is the name given to a
special type of fossilized remains of terrestrial
vegetation. It is the result of a tree or tree-like
plants having completely transitioned to stone
by the process of permineralization.
All the organic materials have been replaced
with minerals(mostly a silicate, such as quartz),
while retaining the original structure of the
stem tissue. Unlike other types of fossils which
are typically impressions or compressions,
petrified wood is a three-dimensional
representation of the original organic material.

While petrified wood is found around Roma,
Surat and Chinchilla is quite large in size
TheYuleba petrified wood while generally
ranging in size from a few mm in size and
typically 20mm but often as large as 200mm
has a very high silica contentent and can be
easily cut and polished.

Aggregates like those found in the Yuleba
depsoit which are high in silica content have
both good aesthetic and physical properties
making them ideal for exposed aggregate
concrete or decorative applications. The
naturally rounded shapes minimise sharp edges
found in crushed aggregates.
