Tim Burton

Tim Burton was born 25 August 1958, Burbank, California, USA. Tim Burton
began drawing at an early age, going on to attend the California Institute of
the Arts, studying animation after being awarded a fellowship from Disney,
who he went on to work with. In his early career he worked on The Fox and
Hound After this Disney gave him the
freedom to create some of his own projects, so what he did
was create a 6 minute black and white gothic Vincent Price
tribute Vincent in 1982. He also created the 27 minute
animation Frankenweenie (1984). Which caught the eye of
Paul Reubens, this then lead
to him asking Burton if he
would like to direct his feature debut pee-wees big adventure
(1985). This then lead to the creation of Beetle Juice (1988) this
then really launched his career as a director and as a animator. He
went on further to create Edward Scissor Hands which starred
Hollywoods top lister Johnny Depp. Then this hit lead to Batman
Returns, which was hugely critized by Warner Bros as it wasnt
what they expected for the final result. Here are a list of the films

Burton has directed 16 films and produced 12 as of 2012. He has won two Oscars for Best
Animated Feature Film of the Year Corpse Bride (2005) in 2006 and Franken weenie (2012) for
best animated Feature in 2013. He has also won a Golden globe
in 2008 for best director for the film Sweeney Todd (2007). He
won 3 BAFTAS in 2004 award for director of Big Fish, 2005 for
childrens award of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and 2013
for best animated film Frankenweenie.
