1. What are the responsibilities of your department?
Department provides intensive home-based services for clients discharging from hospital or
collateral referrals, usually
Clinicians provide individual therapy and therapeutic groups

2. What kind of education and training have you had?
Masters in counselling psychology & background in associates in early childhood development
and bachelors in psychology
experience has been preschool teacher, ESP educational support person (supporting special
needs children in school), and now residential therapist & member of the child therapeutic
outreach team


3. What types of skills and personality traits are good important for this job?
sincere love of people (treating people with unconditional support), empathy, understanding,
and a knowledge of human development, mental health issues


4. How did you decide to do this kind of work?
working in schools thinking she was going to teach noticing there was a lot of emotional issues
in children, and teachers didn't have the time to address those issues so thats what drove her
towards this field


5. What education and training does an entry-level employee need?
need a bachelor's degree in almost any field in masters has to be in mental health field


6. What is a starting salary in this business?
at least $11 dollars an hour, yearly about $23,000

7. What do you like most about your job?
working with people

traveling in between clients
