Chapter 8: Strategy Worksheet
Strategy Name: Classroom Grouping Patterns Strategy # 8
Brief Description (in your own words):
Classroom grouping patterns are the way individuals are grouped in a classroom setting.
Classroom grouping patterns consist of whole class, small groups, pairs or individually.
Classroom grouping patterns is a strategy that keeps instruction fresh, goes with the type of
lesson being presented and stimulates dialogue.

How you plan to use this strategy in your practicum, internship, student teaching, or in your
classroom:
I plan to use classroom grouping patterns in my internship and students teaching. I plan to use
classroom grouping patterns in every lesson I instruct. When the students need to get in
partners for an activity I will use this strategy. If we are going to play a team game I will use this
technique to split the class up in to even groups. Using these techniques will come in very
handy in my internship and student teaching. While they are in groups this will also provide a
positive learning environment conducive to communication about the lesson
