SOLUTIONS OF INCOMPLETE QUADRATIC EQUATIONS

There are Three (3) forms of Incomplete quadratic equations. An Incomplete quadratic
Equation is either the linear part or the constant part is missing or both, but not the quadratic part.
Here are the three forms of Incomplete QE.
1. Ax
2
=0
2. Ax
2
+bx=0
3. Ax
2
+c=0

How to find their roots?
Case #1- ax
2
=0 their roots are both 0 x
1
=0 and x
2
=0
By using quadratic formula, you will derived into both 0/2 which is 0.
Their roots are called double root, or a root that has a multiplicity of 2.

Case #2 ax
2
+bx=0
Their roots are x
1
=0 and b/a
For example: 4x
2
+3x=0
Find the values of a and b. a=4 b=3
-b/a= -(3)/4 = -3/4
Therefore, The roots of this Quadratic equation is: x
1
=0 and x
2
=-3/4

Case #3 ax
2
+c=0
Their formula is:
X
1
/x
2
= +/- -c
a
or rewritten as x
1
= + -c x
2
= - -c
a a

For example:
4x
2
-25=0
a=4;c=(-25)

X
1
= -c
a
X
1
= 25
4

They must have the same answers but different on the sign.
