Learning experience 15: Revising letter and typing

Time: 60 minutes
Classroom organisation: booklets, , independent work

Curriculum links: Experiment with text structures and language features
and their effects in creating literary texts, for example, using imagery,
sentence variation, metaphor and word choice (ACELT1800)

Investigate how vocabulary choices, including evaluative language can
express shades of meaning, feeling and opinion (ACELA1525)

Learning objectives:
Writing and creating WC6
editing for content, language, visual choices and to enhance meaning


1) Students will be instructed that they are to now spend the lesson
working independently unless the teacher has assigned a specific
group for this lesson to work together. (Students with particular learning
needs will receive help from both the parent and teacher aid)

2) For students who have finished editing and has had their letter checked
by another peer is able to begin typing the letter
For students who finish typing the letter they are able to fill in any
blanks in their booklet if they wish by using any of the resources
around the classroom

3) Students who wish to read their letter to their friends are more than
welcome too

4) To end the lesson and unit the teacher will ask certain students to read
their letters. ( All students will have a chance to read their letter at
some stage

5) Students will be congratulated for their lovely hard work and will hand
in their booklets and letters to the teacher




Assessment: Students final assignment will be handed into to the teacher and
marks will be given out in the coming weeks. The rubric will be used for
assessment.


Plan, draft and publish texts using strategies including:
sourcing reliable information and recording detailed notes
using features such as full indexes and paragraphs that aid
navigation
