These 8

th
grade students display a high level of proficiency within the English Reading Content
Standards. However, a higher number of partially proficient and unsatisfactory scores show up in
Standard 4 and Standard 5. In order to help bring these students up to speed with these two standards, I
intend to set up English class stations merging both these standards (Students apply thinking skills to their
reading, writing, speaking, listening, and viewing; and, students read to locate, select, and make use of
relevant information from a variety of media, reference, and technological sources.) Each of these
different stations will feature either a text, writing activity, speaking/listening activity, or a video for
students to interpret. Likewise, each will also incorporate technology and research.

The majority of these 8
th
grade students display partially proficient or unsatisfactory scores on their
mathematic CSAP in regards to standards 1/6, 2, 3, and 4/5. In order to bring students up to a proficient
level, I will create a project incorporating data collection and algebraic equations so students can set these
standards in real time and see how they work on a real world scale.
