CCBCs Annual Fall Focus Event

Theme: Connecting the Dots to Enhance Student Success

Proposals for 1-hour break-out sessions are being accepted from CCBC
faculty and staff from all areas of the college. We are especially looking
for presentations that emphasize collaboration across programs, new
pathways for student success, and programs that are designed to help
students succeed.
Proposals should include a title, brief overview (150 words or less)
description of the proposed session, a one-sentence description to be
included in the conference program, names of presenters and a brief
explanation of how the proposal is related to this years theme. A
proposal form is attached for your convenience.

Fall Focus 2014 Presentation Proposal
Theme: Connecting the Dots to Enhance Student Success

1. Title: Full Title of Session : Creating a Globally Intensive Course
FlexReg Title (This is the title people will see on FlexReg. It may contain no
more than 27 characters, including spaces). Use the lines below:
Global Course Development (25 characters)
Overview: In two to three sentences, describe the proposed session, the
intended audience and the method(s) of presentation.
Description: The session will have 5 presenters each of whom have recently
created a globally intensive course. Presenters will discuss the
development of their course, discuss challenges faced and how they were
overcome and show some sample assignments.
Audience all CCBC faculty.
Presentation 10 minute PowerPoint presentations by each presenter
followed by 10 minute question/answer session.


2. Describe how this presentation is related to the theme Connecting the
Dots to Enhance Student Success.
CCBCs Global Distinction program provides the framework to ensure that
our students become global citizens. The aim of the program is for student
success in this interconnected and interdependent world. The presenters
have recently created courses that have earned the Global Distinction
course certification. The subject matter of these courses covers statistics,
information technology, political science, sociology and horticulture.
