Dear Year 3 Students,

Hi there! My name is Mrs Sally McDonald and I am a teacher who lives
in Brighton, England. I teach a Year 3 class at Brighton Academy who
are currently learning about climate in other towns in different countries.
We are looking at the climate in Mackay, Queensland, Australia at the
moment and we thought, Whats a better way to find out what the
climate is like in Mackay than to ask some students who live there?

Some questions we were curious about are:
What is the climate in summer? (eg. average temperature and
rainfall)
What is the climate in winter? (eg. average temperature and rainfall)
When is the cyclone season?
When is the wet (rainy) season?
Does it snow in Mackay?
What natural disasters occur in Mackay?

We were hoping you could help us out by discussing these questions
with your teacher and peers and email us back with what you have
spoken about. Maybe you could put the answers in a table? Any other
information about the climate that you would also like us to know would
be helpful as well!
