Overview

This past decade Baguio City has taken its population limit hitting over 318,676 according to the
2010 census by the National Statistics Office. This excludes the visitors that flock over specially when its
summer and during the Panagbenga Festival. Having over 78,313 households, the city government is
having issues on insufficient freshwater source though BWD (Baguio Water District) caters to most of
the barangays there are still some places that BWD cannot reach. This may be due to their high
elevation and difficulty on water connections. **(continuation)
**2 choices
1. Pinget
This includes one of the most populous barangay in Baguio known as Barangay Pinget. Having
a population of 6,669 (accdg. To the 2010 census by NSO) the only water source they have is the
water delivery from deep wells on neighboring barangays according to the residents. They also
rely on rainwater during rainy season.
2. Pinsao proper
This incudes Barangay Pinsao Proper having a population of 5,257 (accdg. To the 2010 census
by NSO) . BWD (Baguio Water District) has water connections on some parts of the area but the
supply cannot reach those on the higher elevations. According to the residents on that area
their water source are water deliveries from developed deep wells and rainwater on the rainy
season. Upon site visit the researchers noticed that the road going up to the highest point
connecting to Barangay Pinget is underdeveloped and only a one way road. This is a problem
when one of their main water resources are from water truck deliveries.
