UPGRADING FIRMWARE OF LENOVO P700

Preparation:
+ Suitable Firmware (I applied the latest P700_ROW_S112_120707) including 3 folders: apdb, modemdb and
target_bin
+ Preloader USB VCOM and MTK USB drivers
+ SP Flash Tool (I used version 3.1216.02)
+ Windows XP-based PC (Laptop is better, avoiding power off suddenly)

Step 1: Install Mediatek PreLoader USB VCOM Port Driver
Shut down the phone, connect it to PC by USB cable, the Hardware Wizard appears


Check Yes, this time only and click [Next].


Check Install from a list and click [Next].


Choose Search for the best, check Include this, browse to the folder of drivers and click [Next].
A Logo testing windows appears


Click [Continue Anyway] and wait for the process to complete.


Click [Finish]


Step 2: Install MTK USB Port Driver
Unplug the USB cable from PC, re-plug it while holding the Volume + on the phone, the Hardware Wizard appears


Check Yes, this time only and click [Next].


Check Install from a list and click [Next].



Choose Search for the best, check Include this, browse to the folder of drivers and click [Next].
A Logo testing windows appears


Click [Continue Anyway] and wait for the process to complete.


Click [Finish]


Step 3: Run the SP Flash Tool, apply new firmware to the phone
Disconnect the phone from PC, open SP Flash Tool folder, run the file Flash_tool.exe


Click [Scatter-loading] and browse to folder target_bin


Choose the file MT6575_Android_scatter_emmc and click [Open]



Check DA DL All With Check Sum and be sure all the 14 items underneath to be checked.
Click [Firmware -> Upgrade], connect the phone to the PC and wait around 12 minutes for the new firmware to be
installed.


This window appearance means you have finished and succeeded. J ust unplug the USB cable, turn on the phone and
enjoy your achievement.
