ADMISSION TO THE PREPARATORY CLASS OF 2015-16
Parents who wish to educate their children at St. Xaviers are expected to
acknowledge the Christian Minority status of the school and show readiness to share the
values, vision and mission of the School. Information in this regard may be found in the
Prospectus and School Diary.
For the Preparatory Class usually there are several candidates applying for every
available seat. To minimize the chances of elimination of their children from the
admission process parents should adhere to the time schedule and provide true, accurate
and complete information in the application form and attached documents.
The candidates applying for admission are expected to be school-ready with
elementary literacy, quantitative reasoning and social skills appropriate for children of
about five years of age. Those who have completed the level of schooling equivalent to
that offered in the Prep class (e.g. UKG) will not be eligible.
The school gives preference in the matter of admission to the children of
Christian Minorities, SC/ST communities, economically less advantaged, school staff, life
members of HOXA and the alumni regularly involved in HOXA activities. Children from
the neighbourhood and those with siblings in the school may also get preferential
consideration. However, all the children under these categories may not be automatically
admitted.
At the time of submission of the completed form, the applicant receives an
identification card with a serial number. A passport size photo of the candidate with the
date stamp (taken within the last thirty days) should be affixed on it. The number on this
card is to be used for all references until the completion of the admission process. The
card should be produced on the first day of class if the candidate secures admission.
Verification of Information
After careful scrutiny of the application forms and documents, the list of
candidates whose forms are found in order will be displayed both on the school website
and bulletin board. This list will include a time table for the candidates to come to the
school with both parents for the verification of the information provided in the application
form.

The list of candidates whose applications could not be accepted with the reason/s
for the non-acceptance of the application also will be displayed simultaneously. The
school authorities will not be in a position to meet the parents/ guardians/ representatives
of the candidates whose form numbers are not included in this list.
When the parents come for the verification of documents, they should take care to
bring their identity and address proof as well as the original documents of which copies
were submitted with the application form. As the documents are being verified the
children will be allowed to play together in a separate room.
Some weeks after the scrutiny of application forms and the verification of the
given data and supporting documents as explained above the list of candidates who are
eligible for admission will be displayed. If after these processes the number of candidates
who qualify is far more than the seats available lots may be drawn.
Important note:
1) The school authorities or staff will not entertain admission related matters outside
the school offices.
2) Applications of the candidates who had applied previously will not be considered.
3) Forms with incomplete information and/ or those submitted without the required
documents will be rejected.
4) The date of birth registered at the time of admission will not be altered. The school
will not entertain requests for such change throughout the school life of the
candidate.
5) Candidates, on whose behalf attempts to influence the admission process unduly
are noticed, will be disqualified.
6) Incorrect declarations of age or any other matter will disqualify a candidate for
admission. Subsequent discovery by the school authorities of wrong declarations
may lead to cancellation of admission.

a) Publication of the Schedule of Verification of Documents and Identification of
Candidates : 8:00 a.m. Sunday, November 23 (simultaneously at www.sxshzb.org
and school bulletin board)
b) Verification of Documents and I dentification of Candidates: Friday Sunday,
November 28-30 in the Junior School
c) Publication of the List of Candidates under Consideration for Admission
Tuesday, December 30 (simultaneously at www.sxshzb.org and school bulletin
board)
Further procedures will also be announced. Admissions will be completed within
the first half of January 2015.
Note: The above schedule is subject to change for unforeseen reasons beyond
our control
