Why

should I use sanitary

waste disposal services?

The United States Department of
Health and Environmental Control
monitors water quality levels in all of
Charlestons local waterways. Water
quality is important because it dictates
how we interact with our rivers,
marshes, and oceans through
swimming, fishing, and boating.

A Guide to Local
Waste Disposal and
Sanitation Sites

A recent study demonstrated that more
than 52 Charleston waterways are
currently impaired with high levels of
bacteria like fecal coliform, a bacteria
that commonly originates from feces.
Contact with this pathogen can cause
ear infections, dysentery, stomach bug,
typhoid fever, and hepatitis A.

Do your part in improving the

health of our local water
systems and dispose of your
waste properly!
