IRRIGATION PROBLEMS

What can prevent your OnPoint Controller from watering?

There are are a number of things that could prevent the Controller from watering:
- If the Controller has been set to Off or Suspend it will not irrigate. Check the status
message at the top center of the user interface to determine the mode the controller is in.
Return the controller to the on mode by clicking the On button on the Manual page.
- If the zone or program has been disabled on the user interface, it will not water. Check the
zone and program settings on the Schedule page to make sure the desired zones and
programs are enabled.
- If there is a mistake in the program start time (for example a.m. vs. p.m.), zone run time,
water days, etc. the controller may appear not to be watering, but in fact is watering at a
different time than you expect.
- If the controller has lost power, it will not water.
- If you have a rain sensor and it is active, or if the additional rain hold time is still in effect,
the controller will not water. Check the status message at the top center of the user interface
to determine the mode the controller is in. If it indicates a rain delay but it hasn't been
raining, the rain sensor relay type may be incorrectly programmed on the Controller. To
change this setting, select the System page's Irrigation button and click on the Sensor
button. Change the Rain Sensor Type and recheck the WaterPoint 1000 status message.
- Short circuits in the valve wiring is a common issue and can prevent valves from turning
on. To determine if any valve wires are shorted, run the Valve Diagnostic Test from the
Manual page of your controller.
- Open circuits in the valve wiring can also prevent valves from turning on. This typically
occurs when a valve wire is no longer connected to the valve. To determine if any valve
wires are open, run the Valve Diagnostic Test from the Manual page of your controller.
- A faulty valve solenoid can prevent a valve from turning on, even though the proper
current is detected. In this case, the valve will have to be replaced.
- If a backow valve is not on, or a mastervalve is not turning on, no water will get to the
valves.
