Progressive Era

Olivia Vona, Period 2

What is the Progressive Era?
The Progressive Era was a period of social activism and political reform
in the United States that flourished from the 1890s to the 1920s. During
this time, certain themes were the center point in change. Corporations
and labor, urbanization and immigration, womens rights, progressive
reformers, political changes, and temperance/prohibition. From my
photographs, I was able to see how times truly were. The children were
doing labor, the women were fighting for voting rights, the men were
making business, and some tried to prevent the ban of alcohol. Each
group of people were busy with one fraction of the progressive era.
Whatever that generation made of it, thats what the generations after
it would live with.
