Cities of the Indus Valley

A. First Civilization to emerge in the Indus river valley in
2600 B.C. People stayed for 700 years. Thus, creating a
new civilization. Houses then started to get plumbing and
running water.
B. Most Indus were farmers. The leaders kept grain levels.
Merchants and traders sold and traded.
C. Life was declining in 1750 B.C. It was a time of big
floods
II. Kingdoms of the Ganges
A. People cattle migrated and aryans spread eastward.
They spoke an Indo European language.
B. The aryans split people into social classes. Priests,
Warriors, Herders, Farmers, artisans and merchants.
C. Aryans believed in many gods. But eventually, people
moved toward single spiritual power.
III. Early Civilizations in China
A. Barriers blocked chinese movement
B. 1027 B.C. the zhou dynasty overthrew the shang
C. Chinese prayed to many gods and nature spirits
D. Zhou Dynasty created the first books which were made
of wood or bamboo.
