International City/County Management Association Hosts

Conference

Recently promoted to assistant city manager of Ft. Lauderdale, Robert
Baldwin served as city manager of Dania Beach, Florida, for five years.
Over the course of his career, he has amassed more than 30 years of
experience working for communities in Florida. Robert Baldwin maintains
memberships with several well known industry-based organizations,
including the International City/County Management Association (ICMA).

Founded in 1914, the ICMA is a nonprofit organization that aims to
advance local government. It has more than 9,000 members worldwide and
represents governments ranging from several hundred people to several
million. The group addresses the needs of local governments and provides
them with research, publications, and training; it also makes available to its
members opportunities for professional development.

On September 14 through 17, 2014, in Charlotte, North Carolina, the ICMA
hosted its 100th annual conference. The conference's more than 3,400
participants were able to attend roundtable discussions, workshops, and
demonstrations, as well as take the chance to share information, network,
and gain educational credit. Keynote speakers addressed the trends,
issues, and challenges facing local government. In addition, there were
more than 170 exhibitors offering attendees the best solutions to apply to
local government management issues.
