Mrs.

McCabe

Mrs .McCabe is the vice principal here
at Ponderosa, and one interesting thing
about her is she was born in Bend but
moved here when she was three months
old.
She is in her 1

year o! teaching. She
taught second grade last year. She has
wor"ed with Mr. Campbell, Mr. Buchan,
Mrs. #enney, Mrs. Coons, Mr. Lemieu$,
and Mrs. %oung at other schools. &er
!avorite grade teaching was second.
'hat inspired her to become a teacher
is she en(oys wor"ing with "ids, and she
always en(oyed school and learning. She
had some great teachers and wanted to
help her student li"e school. She moved
to Ponderosa because she was teaching
second grade at )airview and wanted to
become a school administrator, especially
a vice principal. She heard good things
about Ponderosa and applied !or the (ob
here.
She does not spea" any !oreign
languages, but she has been to countries
with her husband li"e )rance, Italy, Spain,
Me$ico, )i(i, C*echoslova"ia, the
+etherlands, ,ermany, -ustria, and the
.#. She wants to go to /ur"ey ne$t.
Mrs. McCabe said her !avorite thing
about Ponderosa is 0the sta1. /hey2re
super awesome,3 she said. 0Some o! the
"ids have been in my class be!ore.3 She
has new !riends this year li"e Mr. Muller,
Mr. Monteith , and all the sta1 and "ids.
She does not have any "ids, but
she has a husband and two cats, Ivan and
Lily, and she will soon have a puppy.
Mrs. McCabe has many !un hobbies
li"e traveling, reading, and going outside.
She said being a vice principal is a
di1erent "ind o! wor" than teaching in a
classroom. In a classroom, you are
planning a day, but as a vice principal,
you are planning the day !or the whole
school, 456 students and sta1.
