Dear Parents,
Thank you for your interest in in your students education, especially within the Desert Hills High
School Theater Department.
When we teach a child to sing or play the flute, we teach them to listen. When we teach her to draw, we teacher
her to see. When we teach a child to dance, we teach him about his body and about space, and when he acts on
stage, he learns about character and motivation. When we teach a child design, we reveal the geometry of the
world. When we teach children about the folk and traditional arts and the great masterpieces of the world, we
teach them to celebrate their roots and find their own place in history. Jane Alexander.
We have a proud tradition of exceptional theater educational success. I firmly believe the exposure
DHHS students receive in the theater arts program will serve them well for a lifetime.
There are always many opportunities to serve. Areas include:
Service on the DHHS Adult Theater Council.
Fund Raising:
-Donation of money by a business, private contribution, or sponsorship.
-Selling and placing advertising of our production.
-Writing grants.
-Looking for corporate financing.
Production Support:
-Ticket sells
-Sets construction
-Costumes/sewing
-Publicity (Posters, play bills, etc.)
-News articles
-Cast parties and luncheons
Many more as needed

We are always looking for donations of vintage clothing, material, furniture, unusual nick-knacks,
and household items. Also, carpentry tools, sewing machines, wood, and other materials are
appreciated. Thank you for supporting the Desert Hills High School Arts Program, but more
importantly, the students.
