Trick or Treat in Downtown
Lisle
Saturday, October 25, 2014
12:00 p.m. 3:00 p.m.
Fall is a beautiful time of year with the changing colors and crisp autumn
air. We are fortunate to have good weather extended for a few weeks.
Because of the nice end to September we had fantastic weather for Ale
Fest. A large number of people attended from outside of our area. This
community event gives great recognition for Lisle and we had the
participation of many chamber members as sponsors, volunteers, and
active committee members. A special thanks to Tom Reif, Hallberg
Commercial & Benefits Solutions for his leadership of the committee.
Thanks to all for a very successful event. We also want to thank the Village of Lisle, Lisle
Park District, Lisle Police Department and Lisle Woodridge Fire District for their
support. Other events in September included Kim Brondyke speaking at Women in
Business with a very good message on personal development, the initiation of a new Leads
Group and a ribbon-cutting at Lisle Dental Center and Insight Property Services.
Thanks to Rosehill Montessori for an enjoyable Business After Hours. We also want to
wish Raymes well with the new restaurant opening. Owner Jerri Nolan was very kind to
open up early for a meeting on the new downtown development presented by Marquette
Properties. The Chamber board has endorsed this project and we look forward to a new
addition to downtown Lisle which will provide many more residents, retail, and
restaurants. Next up will be meetings before the Planning and Zoning Commission.

October will be a time when you have many opportunities to network with other chamber
members and the general public alike. We have ribbon-cuttings at Passeros Pizza and
Crme de le Crme. There will be two Business After Hours, one at Advanced Lisle
Dental and the other at St Joan of Arc Church. Both promise to be enjoyable gatherings.
The Women in Business luncheon will feature Dr. Mangat from DuPage Medical Group
speaking in regard to Breast Cancer Month while the General Membership luncheon will
feature Senator Michael Connelly and State Representative Ron Sandack. There is an
important issue in regard to school funding which needs to be studied. We will make you
more aware in separate communications from the Government Affairs Committee. The
Leads B2B will be meeting twice as will the LENG so it is a month filled with social
interaction. Downtown businesses will welcome Trick or Treaters on Saturday October
28
th
from 12-3pm. That will be the last Saturday of the French Market as well. I hope to
see you at one of these programs. Happy Autumn!

Dear Members:

So, you are a busy business owner, all caught up in the
day-to-day operations. You hear about all the activities
that the Chamber is hosting and think all those activities
are great. But you find yourself saying things like, Aint nobody
got time for that!

Getting involved in community events like these is EXACTLY
what Chamber members should be doing. You are the greatest
advocate for your business. Being a part of the activities is the
best way to make connections & grow your own business.

Over 1,400 people attended our September community event, Lisle
Ale Fest. It was a big success, and the talk of the town! Many
chamber members invested their time to help plan and execute. I
dont believe any of them think it was a waste of their time. Thank
you to our committee chair, Tom Reif, for his leadership of our
team, and of course to Tom Althoff and Jill Eidukas who really
worked hard pulling all the details together. We had a total of 110
volunteers for the event as well. They gave their time, talent and
treasure without hesitation. They connected with our
community. Everybodys got time for that!

With important elections around the corner, a great idea this
October is to attend our Member luncheon on the 16
th
at the Lisle
Hilton. State Senator Michael Connelly and Representative Ron
Sandack will speak to us and give us updates on the State of
Illinois.

There are several opportunities for your business in October. Go
to the Chamber website calendar and check them out! Hate going
alone? Youre not alone; so do I! Invite a friend/colleague, or let
your Chamber ambassador know. Your ambassador will be more
than happy to meet you there and save you a seat!

Bottom line: no more excuses. Your Chamber is waiting for you!

AMBASSADOR SPOTLIGHTCHUCK GOFF

GENERAL MEMBERSHIP LUNCHEON

UPCOMING GENERAL MEMBERSHIP LUNCHEONS
Chuck Goff, a Lisle Area Chamber of Commerce member and Ambassador since April
2014 serves as the Founding Director of New Tradition Funerals and Cremations. His
primary duty as Founding Director is to provide high quality funeral and cremations
services at a reasonable price compared to traditional funeral homes.

Chuck enjoys his time as an Ambassador for the Chamber because it has put him in
contact with a core group of Chamber members. He feels that being part of the Ambas-
sadors gives each person a better opportunity to get know everyone and support one
another more closely.

Chuck has resided in Woodridge since 2006. In his free time he enjoys reading, learning, motorcycling
with friends and spending time on the family farm. He leaves us with these words of wisdom, Bikers say
that it is about the ride, not the destination. The same is true for our lives. Let us fully experience our
rides in ways that help us to both learn who we are and avoid regret.
