SECRETARYS REPORT APRIL 19, 2014

The Spring meeting for the SVWGA was called to order by Co-President Jane Boone at 10:25 am.
Introduction of new and returning members was made by Jane.
Secretary minutes from the October 2013 meeting and the Treasurers report for 2014 to date were reviewed. Toni
Ellis moved the reports be accepted as written and Anne Combs seconded the move which was unanimously
approved by the membership.
New Business: Jane Boone opened a discussion on the necessity to establish guidelines for honoring members
and/or their family members who have passed away or are ill. We currently send cards for illness/death and
sometimes flowers for a death. It was suggested by the board that a $25 donation be made to the charity of the
familys choice in lieu of flowers because of limited treasury funds. Rhonda Haggard suggested that family members
include: member, spouse and their children. Paula Bunton suggested that a committee be formed to look into the
matter. After a general discussion amongst the membership, it was moved and seconded to use the following
guideline: Member, spouse and children will constitute the family members. We will continue to send cards for
illness and deaths as before and donate $25 to the charity of choice for a family member. The guideline was
approved by the membership.
Nine and wine has been moved to 5:30 pm on Wednesdays. Call the clubhouse if you are playing. Carolyn
Cunningham will remain in charge for this season.
The 2 Club was explained to the membership by Anne Combs. She has the pins and the cost is $4 which is a one time
fee.
SVWGA tournaments this year include Derby Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Greenie Day, Labor Day and
Member/Guest.
The Birdies notebook is in place by the computer. As some confusion exists as to what birdies are allowed by SVWGA,
Jane proposed that the birdies allowed be those made in both SVWGA events and Club events. The membership
unanimously reaffirmed that recommendation.
Couples play will be once monthly. Check the calendar for the dates.
Paula Bunton discussed Ladies Day and what days scores you can post for Ladies Day. They are Saturday and
Sunday the weekend before Tuesday Ladies Day as long as you declare before you start play and play with at least
one other SVWGA member. Only those ladies who play at 9:00 am on Tuesday are allowed to post scores for
Tuesday. If you play the weekend and Tuesday, the Tuesday score is the one that will be used.
Pat Wheeler liaison to the Central Kentucky Womens Golf Association discussed whats necessary to join .
Cleveland Clubs will present a short game clinic with their new wedges on May 8
th
at 5:30 pm.
The meeting was adjourned for a scramble by Co-President, Jane Boone, at 11:00 am.
Respectfully submitted,
Gerry Ritchey
