Design of Op-amp based PI, PD, PID Controller using PSpice

Aim:
To implement the following controller circuits using Op-amp based circuit
1) PI controller
2) PD Controller
3) PID Controller

Objective:
1. To acquire the knowledge of applying op-amps in the controller design for practical systems
2. To tune the gain of controllers and to study the performance of the system with and without
controller
Preparation:
1. Review of design of P controller, I controller and D Controllers
2. Review the actions of PI, PD controllers and design calculations

Procedure:
1. With the calculated values of the passive components, choose uA741 or TL082 op-amp as the
active element for the controller.
2. Implement the circuit using PSpice software.
3. Apply a test signal of 1V magnitude at the input to the controller and observe the output
voltage.
4. Similarly perform the AC analysis and verify the frequency response of the controllers.

Application:
Apply the PI controller to implement a closed loop control of a DC DC converter so as to use as
switching regulator.
