Gender Equality

United States Scandinavian nations

In the US men still have
dominance. Women make 77
cents for for every $1 a man
makes.
In the US men and women are
both allowed to have their own
separate living if they want.
In the US, we have never had a
female President or many female
leaders.
In the US men typically pay child
support. You never see women
that do that.
If a man and a women are in
competition for the same job, the
man has a better chance of getting
it then the women.
In Sweden, women have less
opportunities than men in the
workforce. on average women get
paid 15% less than men. Also, many
women cant get full time jobs.
SImilar to the US Women are allowed
To make their own living. They do not
need to be supported to men.
In scandinavian nations, they have
had many female leaders.
Scandinavian nations require atleast
40% of women to be part of public
committees.
85% of professors are female leaving
only 15% male.

Gender equality in Scandinavia is better than gender equality in the US.
Scandinavian nations are ranked much higher in gender equality than the US is. That
means that women their have more rights than we do here. Although you may think that
the US has great gender equality, many problems that people may not even think of still
exist. The US never had a female leader as opposed to scandinavia that had many. As
you can see from the table, many statistics from Scandinavia are much better then
those from the US.
