Intent is that all business users can easily
understand the process from a standard
notation (BPMN: Business Process Modeling
Notation)
Can show the organizational unit performing
the activity

Guidelines for Preparing Business Process Diagrams
Focus 3-3 on text page 62

1. Identify and understand the business process
2. Ignore certain items details of documents, storage,
technology
3. Decide how much detail to include similar to different
levels of a DFD
4. Enter each business process from beginning to end
5. Draw a rough sketch, review with people involved with the
system and correct/revise as needed
6. Final copy with name of process, date of preparation and
name of preparer
