Standard Objective Assessment Class Activities

Math
MCCK.CC.4 Understand the
relationship between
numbers and relationship
between numbers and
quantities; connect
counting to cardinality.
a. When counting objects,
say the number names in
the standard order, pairing
each object with one and
only one number name and
each number name with
one and only one object.
b. Understand that the last
number name said tells the
number of objects counted.
The number of objects is the
same regardless of their
arrangement or the order in
which they were counted.
The learning will
take place over a
period of days. I
will introduce
numbers and
quantity to the
students by giving
them dot cards,
these are cards
that have a number
labeled on them
and the
corresponding
dotes beside the
number. Students
will count the dots
and see if the dots
matches the
number.
The students will be assessed by a
series of questions that will be asked
every day at the end of the lesson to
see if the students have a clear
understanding of what quantity
means and how it relates to numeric
symbols. I will also do assessments
while the children are working on
their class activity. I will go around the
class and see what the students are
doing if they are matching the
quantity and numbers correctly and
asking why they choose that number.
At the end of week 1 of our quantity
lesson students will be assessed using
a formative assessment style. I have
designed a short quiz on socrative that
will allow me to see which of my
students need extra help with relating
quantity with numeric numbers. The
test consist of five multiple choice and
2 true false questions. There will be
pictures of different items such as
stars, cars, ect. The students will have
to choose the correct number that
goes with the quantity of that picture.
They will then be given two questions
that show a picture but the question
will have the number of items there
are in it and the students have to look
at the picture and choose if the
statement about the picture is true or
false.
Each day I will introduce a new number
to my class. We start with one and work
our way to 20. We will build the
numbers on an anchor chart using ten
frames, tally marks, a tens and ones
chart, and pictures to represent the
number. We also use number journals
to record the same information.
Students will play games such as
concentration with ten frames.
The students will be given ten different
frames or pictures with a quantity
amount on them and also ten
numerical numbers students must
match the number with the quantity.
