Australian Cricketers Come to Visit

Riverview Primary

On Monday October 20
th
Riverview Primary
School will be visited by Australian Cricket legends
Michael Clarke and Glenn McGrath who will be
here to promote Childrens Health Week. All
parents are welcome to join our school on the
Riverview Oval at 10am for an open meet and
greet.

After morning tea, students from Ms Dabans year
6D class will be treated to a special PE lesson run
by Michael and Glenn who will give the children
insights into the game of cricket. Through this
special PE lesson the children will be taught how to
refine their abilities to bowl a cricket ball
appropriately through a variety of challenges set out
by our visitors (MOS3.4), develop and maintain
friendships through teamwork activities (IRS3.11)
and learn about the effects of physical activity on
the body through an open question and answer
forum run by Michael and Glenn (ALS3.6).

Overall, we think that this will be a successful day
and we encourage parents to come and join us!

lesson during Term 4 at Sydney Olympic Park in
Homebush. Lessons are not compulsory but
encouraged by our teachers.

th
of November:
Tuesday 4:30pm for years K-2

The cost of lessons will be $8.00 each or $25.00 for
the month.

The aim of swimming lessons will be to teach
children how to recognize that water safety
awareness relies on their behavior in and out of the
swimming pool (SLS1.13), safe water entry and
exit and survival swimming skills and basic strokes
(MOS3.4) and develop active listening skills to
communicate with one another appropriately in a
