MODUL HALUS BAHASA INGGERIS 2012

Introduction

This module is meant for low achieving students (HALUS HARUS LULUS). It is meant as a
supplementary exercise to teach them writing through a series of similar stages from
prewriting to sentence construction (free writing). It is also situationally-based so as to
enable pupils to focus on the topic at hand.

The main objective of this module is to help pupils to understand how sentences are
constructed and how simple sentences can be expanded into compound and complex
sentences.

This is not meant as a self-access learning (SAL) module. Teacher guidance is paramount to
achieving the main objective.

Suggested Usage

Teacher needs to go through all files given so as to get a clear picture of the process involved.

A main composite picture is used so that pupils will be able to generate most of the suitable
vocabulary necessary for sentence construction later on.

Blank-filling exercises, copying, rearranging the words given are the main skills to identify
word order in sentences and their relationship in making a correct complete sentence.

Wh-questions are used to expand basic simple sentences into compound and later, complex
sentences.

Teacher discretion is needed when choosing which stage of the exercises given so as students
can get a sense of achievement when completing the exercises. You know your pupils best!

Teacher is expected to extend the exercises further if and when pupils are able to master
simple and coumpound sentences.

This module is given in its raw format intended for teachers manipulation of the exercises. However, to reprint or
reproduce and resell it in any form to any publisher, without the consent of the publisher, is a violation of copyright and
can be subjected to legal prosecution.
