What is it?
It is a group
of metabolic
disorders
that share
the common
feature of
high
concentratio
ns of glucose
present in
the blood of
chronic or
persistent.
Diabetes mellitus is classified into three
types: type 1 diabetes mellitus, in which
there is a total destruction of cells, which
leads to absolute insulin deficiency; type 2
diabetes mellitus or non-insulin, a
consequence of a progressive defect in
insulin secretion, and the history of
peripheral resistance to it; gestational
diabetes, which is diagnosed during
pregnancy; and other types of diabetes
caused by different causes.
The main symptoms of diabetes are
excessive urination also called polyuria.
Abnormal increase in the need to
eat, also called polyphagia.
Increased thirst polydipsia call
Excessive tiredness
More symptoms of diabetes.
Weight loss for no apparent reason.
This disease can not be cured
but can be controlled and the
best recommendations are:
Eating foods that contain lots of
water and exercise.
Foods that a
diabetic
should avoid
are
carbohydrates
such as sugar,
chocolate,
jam, honey
and some
dairy.
Also, the person receives insulin dose
prescribed and sometimes set by the
doctor.
