I recently found the position for Administrative Assistant Intern listed in the University
of Michigans career services online listing and thought it would be a perfect fit for me as
a community driven business student. The University of Michigan prides itself on being a
diverse and vibrant community. Through the mission and goal U of M it is clear that the
community is here to serve the people while challenging and enriching the future. While
continuing the vibrancy and service goals I would be a perfect fit in the U of M
environment. With a nearly completed business administrative degree from U of M- Flint
and much community involvement, a position like Administrative Assistant Intern would
be an exciting opportunity to use my business skills to maintain the much needed
departmental operations.

My business and clerical proficiencies include extensive experience in several computer
programs, punctuality, a positive professional attitude, a natural knack for organization
and multitasking. These skills coupled with respectful public service readiness will be
much needed to successfully complete all tasks included in this position. My
professional experiences and sunny predisposition can only help uphold the community
and professional service goals of U of M.

As you can see from my resume I have completed many professional business tasks that
have led to my success in running a small business for over 10 years. This along with an
ongoing community involvement and volunteer work has given me a customer service

Job Objective: To be a principal strength in upholding the community service goals of
Washtenaw County by using my business skills to successfully complete duties in an
business administrative setting.
Education: Mott Community College- 2005-2010 (3.8 GPA) Associate in Arts- In the
Honors program graduating with High Honors
University of Michigan-Flint- 2011-2015 expected graduation (3.6 GPA) Business
program- Majoring in General Business Administration.
Work Experience: Sicilys Green Cleaning: (2004-2012) Acquiring clients,
bookkeeping, organizing, working with clients specific wants and needs, scheduling,
market research to undercut competition, the physical attributes of cleaning and sanitizing
with green, environmentally friendly products.
Volunteer Experience:
Feral Foods CSA Charity Breakfast -August 30th, 2013Job Duties: Planting seeds,
Preparing breakfast foods ahead of time. Passing out brochures. Informing people on the
Feral Foods Cooperative, letting people know about selected monthly charity.
Homegrown Festival -Ann Arbor Farmers Market -September 7, 2013
Duties: Greeting people entering the festival, handing out programs, giving people
surveys as they exited, making sure no alcohol left the perimeter.
Improving Birth- July 2013Conducting an online interview to share my birth story in
order to inform others about the benefits of evidence based maternity care.
Catholic Charities North End Soup Kitchen- October 2008, 2009, 2010 Duties: Gathering
information about needy families, signing kids up for the Angel program, which provides
Christmas gifts for low-income kids. Data processing, alphabetizing files, checked ID and
info of clients to ensure eligibility.
American Red Cross- October 2008 Duties: Educating donors through related literature
to blood donation, attended a class in blood donor history and safety, made sure clients
understand benefits and risk of donating blood. Set example for potential donors by
donating every 56 days to help those in need. Personal donations of platelets three times,
specifically for soldiers, through a process called apheresis. I received the honor of
home front hero in recognition of donations for the military.
MCC Steering Committee Member- 2007-2010 Duties: To discuss new programs and
ideas and to give an honest thoughtful student perspective on subjects to other board
members. Survey peers and turn over findings to the committee.
Special Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Windows Vista, PowerPoint, and
Quickbooks. Use of office electronics. Knowledge of basic American Sign Language
terms and culture.
