Colour

There is a lot of use of the colour purple in the two pages, which
connotes imagination, deeper thoughts and sensitivity, which
could suggest the guys personality. However, there are blue tints
within the purple, which give the impression that he is trust
worthy, honest, loyal and reliable.
Design
The layout is easy to understand, its simple, the intro, pull quote
and article itself all fit nicely around one another. The layout is
suitable for almost anyone, therefore this could attract a larger
variety of people. There has also been usage of a drop cap, which
also draws attention to it, which might beckon people to start
reading.
Images
The image is of the person the article is
about. It is a MCU and there is usage of
direct gaze, which draws the readers
attention. He also looks like he is in deep
thought.
Pose, Style, Hair, Makeup
He is almost hunched over, with his chin leaning on
his hand. This is stereotypically a position one would
sit in when they are thinking. Similarly to the CP and
FC images, due to the image being close up, its not
obvious what he is wearing, but it looks like a black
shirt. Black suggests secrecy, which would relate to
the article, which is about the band he was a part of,
and maybe in the article all secrets are revealed? His
hair (also similarly) to the guy on the CP is a mixture
of being messy yet neat. The similarities in the
images could suggest that the target audience like
these factors about the people they see in the
magazine.
How are words used?
The pull quote used starts off optimistic, yet falls
and ends being pessimistic. The contrast could
interest the audience into reading it. As for size and
layout, the pull quote is the largest, the intro is
smaller, and the article is smallest of the three. This
could be because the pull quote is supposed to be
the most interesting, and to be read first, then the
intro and the article last?
The pull quote also fits the colour scheme of the
image on the right page, which reinforces the link
between the colour connotations and the man
himself, as the quote is obviously his.
Language
The article starts off with a quote/rhetorical question straight
away. This would draw in immediate attention. There is also use
of formal writing, which could draw in those who in their twenties,
or possibly older, as many teenagers would be more likely to
prefer reading informal writing.
