Most aspects of its operation are controlled by a computer. It is normally used to shape woods and plastics. The machine below is a manually operated centre lathe. This is normally used to shape metals, such as mild steel. TYPICAL CNC MACHINE MANUALLY OPERATED MACHINE Two types of machine are shown below, a CNC router and a manually operated centre lathe.
