PE 2 Aerobic Dancing Mrs. Michiko Aseron

Its not like I dont like sports or UAAP itself. In the past few years, I just feel that
whatever happens there doesnt concern or affect me in any way, and since I have a lot on my
plate, I devote my time on my priorities instead of spending my time something I wasnt
involved in yet.
But, for the very first time in my life, I actually paid attention to a UAAP event-
cheerdance competition to be exact (the highlight and the most exciting one, yep). Is it because
its a requirement to watch it for PE class? Because I need to have a feel of college life? Or is it
because I am now a part of it?
Yes. I have found a reason to be involved in this annual event. I have found another
reason to be excited and nervous at the same time. I can now feel the thrill of cheering for your
own university. And believe me, it feels so great!!
Though I wasnt physically in Araneta during the UAAP CDC, I sure felt the chills,
pressure, and overwhelming fun even at home. Even my parents and siblings were surprised by
my loud cheers that (they said) can be heard by our neighbors. I was also able to learn about the
other universities that are part of UAAP and the difference of UAAP and NCAA (I asked my
brother :D). I admired every team that performed and much more the support every student gives
to his/her alma mater. I was amazed by how each pep squad continued their routine despite the
mistakes or flaws they made.
Moreover, what I liked the most are the themes each group had. This just proves that we
Filipinos are so creative. I salute UPs theme-rainbow and equality. It made me proud to be in
this institution that strives for equality in all aspects. #UPFight ! ^_^
Overall, I enjoyed the whole experience to the bits. I congratulate those who won and I
know they deserved it. The National University retained its championship crown and the
University of the Philippines placed second like last season. But I know that UP will not just
settle for that. This is not the end of the fight for the championship title and for global
equality. Canr wait for next season! >_<
