Photo Write 10/16/14: Still Life Photography
A still life photograph is a collection of inanimate objects arranged together in a specific
way. A still life depicts a subject that does not move and focuses on lighting, composition, and
the arrangement of subjects matter. Often use common everyday objects or man-made objects.
Still life photography gives the photographer more choice in arrangement of the photograph than
other forms of photography. Also, centered composition gives still life photography a balanced
and harmonious sense often desired by the photographer.
