Leading Kids to Christ

One of the greatest joys of teaching is the opportunity to participate with kids as they begin
thinking about salvation decisions. Tese suggestions will help you discuss salvation with them:
Kids dont think abstractly. Use words that are accurate, comfortable, and appropriate.
Talk and listen. Talking, questioning, thinking, and praying together will help you know a young
persons desire and readiness for this important step.
Share with parents. Te best person to determine if a kid is ready to make a decision is the
Christian parent.
Seek direction from the Holy Spirit. He knows every kids heart.
Share Bible verses. Consider reading some or all of these verses together:
John 3:16
Acts 4:12
Acts 16:31-33
Romans 10:9, 13
Mark 16:16
Acts 2:36-38
Ephesians 2:8, 9
Revelation 2:10
Matthew 24:13
Talk to kids individually. Avoid situations in which peer pressure can infuence this vital decision.
You will, of course, have kids in your program who dont come from Christian homes. As you
nurture the faith of these kids, dont forget to include their parents as well.
