neck warmer - scarf

pattern stitch: woven diagonal herringbone
note: all slip-stitches are slipped with yarn in front!
cast on 34 sts. knit 1 row. start pattern
row 1= (wrong side) k1, purl to last st., k1 repeat at all other wrong-side rows
row 2= k 2, * sl 3, k 3; rep from * 4 times, end sl 3, k 5.
row 3= repeat row 1
row 4= k 3, * sl 3, k 3; rep from * 4 times, end sl 3, k 4.
row 5= repeat row 1
row 6= k 4, * sl 3, k 3; rep from * 4 times, end sl 3, k 3.
row 7= repeat row 1
row 8= k 5, * sl 3, k 3; rep from * 4 times, end sl 3, k 2.
SUNRAY
yarn: plum knit 8 ply cashmere/ 2 skein
needle: us 9
gauge in pattern: 15 sts in 4 inch
measurement: 8.5 by 26

row 9= repeat row 1
row 10= k 2, sl 1, * k 3, sl 3; rep from * 4 times, end k 3, sl 2, k2.
row 11= repeat row 1
row 12= k 2, sl 2, * k 3, sl 3; rep from * 4 times, end k 3, sl 1, k2
repeat rows 1 to 12 - 14 times, or until you reach desired length.
knit 1 row, purl 1 row and cast off.
knitted longer, this pattern would also make a lovely scarf.
