The summer of 2014 was a long, intense, and violent summer. The illing of two Palestinian teenagers at
the Bituniya chec!oint, the disa!!earance of three "ewish teenagers in the #est Ban who were later
found dead, $y Brother%s &ee!er military o!eration the #est Ban and east "erusalem, the murder of
the 1' years old $uhhamed ()u-&hdeir who was )urnt to death )y "ewish men, more than seven wees
of the *!rotective edge* deadly attac on the Ga+a stri!.
This was also a summer of hate, incitement, and violence against anti-war !rotestors. ,uring the tree
wees of $y )rother%s ee!er military o!eration, -oalition of women for !eace .-#P/ organi+ed a
num)er of !rotests in various locations in Tel (viv together with !artners such as ,a%am worers !arty,
0ocialist 0truggle $ovement, Ta%ayush, (narchists against the #all and others, denouncing the ongoing
escalation of violent collective !unishment against Palestinians and !rotesting the raids on the homes and
the arrest of over '00 !eo!le including 1uveniles.
2n the aftermath of the disa!!earance of three young settlers, the 2sraeli 3ccu!ation 4orces
.234/ )esieged 5e)ron, raiding homes and )usinesses and maing hundreds of arrests all over the #est
Ban. 6sing e7cessive violence, the 234 fired live ammunition at !rotesters illing two !eo!le and
in1uring several others.
(t this !oint it was already !ossi)le to see the violent reaction in the 2sraeli street including the attac
on four activists at the end of a demonstration on "une 21, 2014. #hile 2srael has tried to !resent a
narrative in which it was dragged into the attac8war in Ga+a, -#P stressed throughout the summer
that attacs on Ga+a had already started in the days following the disa!!earance and murder of the
three "ewish teenagers. This most recent round of violence did not 1ust ha!!en *out of the )lue*. 6!on
the discovery of the )odies of the dead )oys, 2sraeli officials, amongst them the !rime minister, called
for revenge. 3ne form of revenge was )y taen )y right wing e7tremists !eo!le themselves )y chasing
Palestinians in the streets of "erusalem and other cities and attacing them, )y firing Palestinians from
wor!laces. (nother cruel form was of this revenge was )y the decision and declaration of e7!ro!riation
4000 hectares in the Bethlehem area, and of course, the deadly attac on Ga+a.
Ani-War Proess ($ring he Aa!" on Ga)a
2srael%s official attac on Ga+a, Protective 9dge military o!eration, started on "uly :, 2014 and lasted
;1 days.
$ore than 2000 !eo!le were illed, at least ;40 children. 5undreds of thousands% lost their homes and
all of their !ro!erty.
$ilitary e<ui!ment that was used during the last attac on Ga+a is now )eing !resented in various
military and security e7hi)itions and will )e sold for tremendous amounts of money .=ead more a)out it
in 5e)rew, and here in 9nglish/.
3n "uly >th, 2014 the -oalition of #omen for Peace .-#P/ held a !rotest vigil in Tel-(viv condemning
the 2sraeli assault on the Ga+a stri!. This !rotest was followed )y si7 other demonstrations organi+ed
)y -#P, a num)er of which were in coo!eration with other !olitical movements and activists grou!s.
(s the attac continued, it was clear that the !rotest must go on although there were numerous
attem!ts to silence the anti-war !rotestors, )oth )y the state re!resentatives such as the !olice and )y
e7treme right wing grou!s.
The demonstration at 5a)ima 0<uare in Tel-(viv on the night of "uly 12, 2014 was violently attaced )y
right wing e7tremists. Protestors were severely )eaten, chased in the streets in front of the eyes of
!olice forces. ?ater on, some of the leaders of these anti-war !rotests .including one of -#P%s
coordinators/ were interrogated )y the !olice, accused with violent )ehavior. $any Palestinian activists
from 5aifa, @a+areth and the @egev were interrogated, arrested. (s it ha!!ens many times, the !olice
and 2sraeli secret service used !olitical !ersecution in order to weaen the !rotest. @onetheless, it was
clear to us that the !hysical attacs of the right wing, as well at those )y state re!resentatives, cannot
and must not silence the !rotest.

There were many !rotests, vigils, and direct actions across the country, in 5aifa, "erusalem, ?od, and
@a+areth. #e are !roud to say that -#P activist efforts during the war hel!ed us to )ecome the
leading force in organi+ing !rotests in Tel-(viv. Together we strengthen the voice of anti-militarism in

Changing he (is!o$rse0 ,uring the 2sraeli attac against Ga+a in "uly-(ugust 2014 racism against
2sraeli Palestinians and the coercive call for Anational ."ewish/ unity )ecame e7treme. 4or over two
months racism and incitement was everywhere - from the Prime $inister and &nesset mem)ers to the
wider !u)lic. The threat against Palestinian citi+ens of 2srael was tangi)le. -ritici+ing the 2sraeli !olicy
and the ongoing assault of the Palestinian !eo!le was considered treason. (s in the !ast, the 2sraeli
!u)lic 1ustified everything in the name of security. 2t was in this volatile atmos!here that -#P was out
in the street !rotesting wee after wee. 2n this !olitical climate we !romoted the im!ortance of a non-
com!romising message of resistance against the hegemonic militaristic discourse.

Ga+a, women demonstrators in Tel (viv, 5aifa, @a+areth, and Palestinian grou!s in @orthern 2srael, -#P
!rovided logistical su!!ort for #5=, and sometimes hel!ed securing legal aid for demonstration
!artici!ants. Together with our !artners from (narchists against the #all and ,a%am !arty, we
res!onded <uicly to the violent attacs during !rotests in Tel-(viv, and wored very hard to !rotect
