Programming Plans

Stephanie of Dirty Water Dyeworks will join us at the April meeting to discuss Color Theory for Knitters. Many of us
have enjoyed working with Stephanies gorgeous colorways, but if you havent had an opportunity, you can find out
more at www.dirtywaterdyeworks.com.. If you missed the March meeting, we need a count for Aprils program, so
please let us know if youll be attending by email to Jen (jensimoneau@verizon.net or jensknits on Ravelry). A
materials fee of $5.00 will be collected at the meeting. Theres a discussion thread on the Ravelry Slater Mill Guild
Studios group on the colorwork projects in our queues. Share your inspiration and ideas!
At the May meeting, the first half hour will feature member Show and Tell. We love to see what everyone is
working on at meetings. A show and tell project can be a finished item or one thats still in progress, a special yarn
or a new technique youve learned. After a brief business meeting, we will be joined by Liz Maynard, an art scholar,
who will share a presentation on Knitting and Art.
An end of year celebration is being planned for the June meeting. Weather permitting, we will enjoy the breezes by
the Blackstone River on the lawn beside the Slater Mill. Well display all the terrific Knit Night Hats from the Spring
Challenge. Have you cast yours on yet?
Have an idea for future programming? Please bring your ideas to a meeting, post to the discussion thread on the
Ravelry forum or email Becky or Jen.
Business Meeting Notes:
Ann Faith reported that the guilds treasury balance is $1416.05.
Block Island Trip: Plans will be revisited at a later date due to lack of interest at this time. Thanks to Phyllis for
efforts on these details for the guild.
Mini Stitch & Pitch: Tickets are going fast! Enjoy knitting and watching the home team play ball! Pat Philbin has
box seats tickets ($11.00 each) for Sunday 5/19 at 1:00pm. Contact her at pat.philbin@verizon.net if interested.
Checks should be made payable to Hook & Needle Guild. Thanks, Pat!
Spring Knitting Challenge: Reminder that the Knit Night Hats will be due at the June celebration meeting.
At the March meeting:
The Know Thyself program discussed the proper way to take
measurements for proper fitting finished projects. A helpful handout
was used to demonstrate where measurements should be taken and
were recorded on a handy chart for future reference. It was great to
have partners to lend a helping hand!
Congratulations to Nancy Tella! She won the great
raffle prize of a set of three SpillyJanes fun mitten
patterns!

Thank you to Phyllis and Sheila for the delicious baked goods!
