Dear Parents/Guardians,

I am replacing Ms. Brister as your student's Social Studies teacher who
unfortunately had to retire. This is my first year at Live Oak Ridge Middle School.
Prior to working within the school district, I served in the U. S. Army, retiring after
20 years. I'm originally from New Orleans, Louisiana. Ive attended several colleges
and universities during my time in the military and completed my Bachelors Degree
in Liberal Studies with a focus in History from Excelsior College.

It is very important to me that I meet the needs of every student in my classes. I will
do whatever I can to help every student succeed. Furthermore, I want to be sure
that students are challenged and learn something new every day. Your role in your
childs education is vital, and I welcome any support and insight you are able to
provide in order to ensure the success of your child.

In addition to the supplies on the Live Oak Ridge Supply List, students in my classes
may have a hand sharpener with a receptacle for shavings (no electric ones, please),
a composition notebook to be used as their interactive notebooks, and a glue stick.
Since this is a change 5 weeks into the school year I will be allowing them until 4
th
of
October to get these necessary items.
