Cedric MacGreer graduated Star Fleet Accademy, and was recruited into Star Fleet Intelligence as a Field Operations Agent. He was
assigned to Plans and Policies for an initial cadet cruise, followed by a second cadet cruise in Military Operations, followed by a first 3 year tour
with Star Fleet Marine Corps Command, due to his prior experience in Military Operations. And then a second (4 year) tour in Field Operations:
Klingon Sector intelligence.
