Brightlingsea Town

Show
The Town Show is organized by the
Brightlingsea and District Horticultural Society, which has
been organizing shows for well over a hundred years,
except for gaps during and immediately after the two
world wars of the last century. t is now held in the
!ommunity !entre in !olne "oad, with the Show itself
inside #entry $%p& and many outside activities. "efreshments
are available throughout the day and these include
an always'popular barbecue. The main outside attraction
is the (xemption Dog Show and for which entries are
made on the day. There are classes for every type of
dog and this is the favourite event for young people,
whether they are two or a hundred and two.
)utside activities begin well before the
Show is opened at *+.%% noon by the Deputy of the
!in,ue -ort .iberty of Brightlingsea, who this year is /r Doug Stone. The Town /ayor,
/r 0raham Steady,
will also be at the opening, as will the !arnival 1ueen and -rincesses, who add a
touch of glamour to the
occasion.
