The Georgian deputy ministers of infrastructure and regional development Giorgi Amashukeli and Giorgi Kobaxidze,
the chairman and the deputy chairman of the road department has met with the representatives of the European
Bank for Reconstruction and Development. The EBRD delegation was headed by the Director for Caucasus, Moldova
and Belarus Bruno Balvanera. The sides discussed ongoing infrastructural projects and perspectives for future
cooperation. The officials discussed the issue of financing of the solid waste management activities in the South Kartli
region. This is a very important project for Georgia. It aims to solve the ecological and environmental problems there.

Giorgi Margvelashvili and Helen Clark discussed a wide range of issues. They talked about economic development in
Georgia, situation in occupied territories and the necessity of humanitarian aid for the population beyond barbed wire.
It was stressed that people should be able to communicate with one another. The UN role in the Geneva discussions
format was stressed at the meeting. The conversation also referred to significance of inclusive economic growth and
economic development in the country.
As Helen Clark said, the Free Trade Agreement creates a possibility for growing investments in Georgia. Giorgi
Margvelashvili and Helen Clark also discussed mechanisms needed to attract foreign investments.
Helen Clark is visiting Georgia in the frames of an official tour.
