What are the methods used in finding out if a child has a learning disability?

There are two different methods to look at if a child may have a learning disability. The first one
called, Response to Intervention looks at students within their grades in their classes. And the
second called, the Psychological IQ method looks at students performance in different
assessments psychologist give them. EC teachers and the IEP team look at these two assessments
and decide whether or not a child has a learning disability based on their performance in all
areas.

Are there programs kids can use to help them learn better?

There are many programs in all school subjects that students can work on at home with their
parents or by themselves. Touch math, corrective reading, and writing fundamentals are a few of
the many great programs for home use.
