Cell Structure

BY KHALID DALMAR
Plasma
Membrane
The cell membrane is
selectively permeable to ions
and organic molecules and
controls the movement of
substances in and out of cells.
The plasma membrane is like
a controller because it
controls everything
Nucleus
Chromosomes
DNA
The nucleus is the control
center of the cell. It is to
maintain the integrity of those
genes.

The nucleus is parent, mom or
dad, since it directs the rest of
the cell just as a parent would
direct their family/children.

Ribosomes
Ribosomes are the protein
builders or the protein
synthesizers of the cell.

You might say that ribosomes
would be like the teachers.
Ribosomes translate mRNA
templates into proteins.
Teachers translate the
standards and information
present in textbooks into
information that can be used
by students

Cytoplasm
Cytoplasm is present within
the cell membrane of all cell
types and contains all
organelles and cell parts.

The air, or the atmosphere is
what you can compare
cytoplasm to.
Mitochondria
They are organelles that act
like a digestive system that
takes in nutrients, breaks them
down, and creates energy for
the cell.

You can compare this to a
light house because it
produces light from the
system of the house kind of
like energy from the cell.
