CHRISTMAS HOPE

Christmas hope begins with birth,

a fresh beginning-God on Earth?!
Love so unstoppable, unleashed at last,
the perfect cure for all our pasts.
God wrapped in cloth, yet veiled in man,
a baby beginning to finish the perfect plan.
Sin’s sorry stain blackened Adam’s race,
a God-sized problem in need of grace.
Justice demands for judgment to fall,
Son of God must take it all.
The Offspring of Mary helpless as a lamb,
the fate of humanity in His hand.
Humble Father, equally humble Son,
a humble beginning for the work to be done.
Meekness and love conquers a proud, rebellious sphere
Dear God help us all to fear
The road to glory begins in a manger trough,
not with pomp, fame or loft.
The Babe of Bethlehem a parable to pride,
to have it all you first must die.
Humility is the very first step,
remember the manger where the Creator slept.
The Joy of Heaven came like a thief,
strips of cloth with babe underneath.
Humble Deity to His own Law a slave,
lowers Himself for mankind to save.
Humble beginning with more humility to come,
blood, thorns and nails-a cross-undone.
Jesus, the Christ, born to die,
Jesus, the Lord, exalted, seated on high.
Come to pay the un-payable debt,
sinless man, God's substitute to accept.
The Savior, a baby, lying in the trough,
the Savior, a man, buried in strips of cloth.
The Glory of the Father sleeps in a humble place,
humility defined to a most prideful race.
Help us,Father, to lose our pride,
in the Baby Jesus we have a guide.
