Photo shoot planning document

What emotional impact do you want your photography do have
upon the reader and how will you achieve this?
I want my images to use direct address to create a link with the
reader and intensify any emotions that may be stirred, and the
double page spread images will make the reader feel like they are in
the presence of the artist, most likely at a gig. This will be achieved
through using performance-based images of the artist for the double
page spread, and ensuring that my front cover image looks at the
reader.
What personnel do you need? Who are you going to photograph?
I am going to be using 2-3 of my peers as models for the multiple
images required.
What props will you need?
I will need music performance based props such as microphones
(also possibly a microphone stand), instruments etc. Other than
these, no other props should be required.
How are you going to emphasise colour?
I am planning on de-emphasising colour by using black & white,
desaturation and low-key lighting, particularly so for the double
page spread.
Have you briefed your personnel/models?
Yes; they are aware of the location, time and requirements of the
photo shoot.
What lighting will you need? Any other equipment?
I will make use of low-key lighting to make the image slightly darker
than usual, although I will experiment with some high-key lit images
also, as they may work contrary to expectations.
Where will you shoot? Will you need a backdrop?
I will be shooting in the photography studio, with a one-colour
backdrop for easy removal when editing.
Mise-en-scene - Make-up? Costumes?
The models will be dressed according to the alternative conventions
of the genre, in a smart-rugged kind of look. However, I will most
likely not be using any make-up, as this seems unconventional if I
do use any it will simply be the basic blemish-covering make-up
used for most photo shoots.
