From the genealogy my parents compiled; The colony ofQuakers who came from England by way ofIreland on the
ship "Hitchock." They virtually founded Camden, then known as Pine Tree Hill. They worked their way up the
Wateree River from Charelston where they landed. Arrival date was probably in 1751 in west Wateree. The earliest
grant discovered was to JosiahTomlinson, dated October 25,1751.
Josiah- Willprobated February 16, 1761.
Josiah Tomlinson - 8/15/1759- 4/25,1834.
Jacob Tomlinson - 6/30/1798 to 1/19/1886.
Mary F. Tomlinson was b. 24 Feb 1890, Acton, IN (Who's Who inAmerica); d. Apr 1975, St. Vincent's Hospital,
Los Angeles, of cancer; m. 1921 Dr. Stanley L. Krebs. She was a daughter of Rev. Samuel J. Tomhnson, b. Aug
1842, IN; d. 1933; m. 25 July 1885, Marion Co., IN Jennie McGaughey, b. Aug 1868, IN.
The Indiana Birth Records Index, 1880-1920, on Ancestry.com has Mary Tomlinson, b. 29 Feb 1890, Johnson Co.,
IN, daughter of Lannie (sic) Tomlinson and Jennie McGanghy. (Johnson Co. Book H-2, page 205)
"Mary Tomlinson was bom inthe Fairland area(Shelby Co., IN), but didnot attend local school.. .was a frequent
visitor intown.. .went to Hollywood and became Maijorie Main. She always remained loyal to Shelby Co. (Marion
