From the genealogy my parents compiled; The colony ofQuakers who came from England by way ofIreland on the
ship "Hitchock." They virtually founded Camden, then known as Pine Tree Hill. They worked their way up the
Wateree River from Charelston where they landed. Arrival date was probably in 1751 in west Wateree. The earliest
grant discovered was to JosiahTomlinson, dated October 25,1751.
