Dear Review Committee,

My name is Jeffery Sisson, I am the son of Mary and Todd Sisson and the oldest of three
children. I have a sister in the eighth grade named Elizabeth and a brother in tenth named Blake
who both attend Pine Lake Preparatory. I am a smart, hardworking, young, man with a love of
math and science. In my free time, I run, swim, and play basketball. During the summer I work
as a swim coach, while in the fall and spring I coach soccer as a volunteer. I am the Treasurer of
the Math Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, and the captain of Pine Lakes cross country team.
I plan on using the Pride Project to expose myself to the real world of business and finance. I
chose this topic for my project because it incorporates math and the science of economics. Also,
half of my family is somehow involved in this field and my high school does not offer any
classes that go into detail on the subject.
For my project, I plan on working with my mentor to develop and create several mock portfolios,
based off of real economic data. Using fake money, these portfolios will contain a series of
different stocks and bonds that I anticipate to grow developing monetary gain. Each portfolio
will represent a different age group of possible clients and the levels of risk associated with each.
I will track and graph these portfolios weekly up through mid-February. Then, I will explain the
reasoning behind the behaviors of each as well as the purpose behind the different investments
made. A large graph will present my findings either through poster board or computer software,
while a spreadsheet will present the exact data that correlates with the different portfolios. To
complete this product I will need access to a Bloomberg account and Microsoft Excel. This
product will involve continual observation that will take place over a series of months and will
be completed by mid-February.
Sincerely,

Jeffery T. Sisson Jr.
