1. Explain Photoelectric effect?

light of wavelength 250 nm falls on potassium surface. (Work function
of potassium is 2.3 eV.)
3. Calculate the velocity of the photoelectron emitted when X-rays of
wavelength 0.75 Angstrom falls on copper surface (work function of
copper is 4.7 eV)
4. For an X-ray machine with accelerating potential 40,000 V, find the
shortest wavelength of X- ray emitted.
5. If the X-ray wavelength is 1 angstrom, find the accelerating voltage
used.
6. Calculate the interplanar distance for a crystal using X-ray diffraction
wavelength of 1.5 angstrom, considering second order diffraction at an
angle of 60 degrees.
7. A monochromatic laser beam (wavelength 532 nm) is scattered
through 40 degree. Find the wavelength of the scattered beam.
8. Consider an electron is in the lowest energy hydrogen atom state, its
position is known to an accuracy of about 0.07 nm (the radius of the
atom). How well is it possible to know the electrons momentum? Its
velocity?
