FormyprojectIwouldliketoexaminewhatrolethenewsmediaplaysinthisissue.Iwould
likemyaudiencetobecomemoreawareofhowandwhytheyvoteandwheretheygettheir
informationfrom.Isthenewsmediaareliablesourceofinformationforelections?Forthe
mostpart,Ithinkthatvotersviewthenewsmediaasplayingapassiveroleinelections,
simplyreportingonwhatishappening,asopposedtoplayinganactiveroleinforming
opinions.

beforeIbeginanalyzingarticles,Iwillneedtostrengthenmyfoundationinpoliticalscience

andcommunications.Iwillbelookingatstudiesontherelationshipbetweenmediaand
electionsthatarealreadyinexistence(Yalehasaverystrongdatabaseforthis).Iwillalsobe
readingsomebooksoncampaignstrategiesandelections.Forexample,VictoryLab,hasbeen
highlyrecommendedbypeopleinthefield.So,Iseethatsourceasastrongjumpingoffpoint
formyresearch.MysecondarysourceswillhelpmeunderstandwhatIshouldbelookingfor
asIgetintomyresearch.

visuallypresentthedata.Again,Iamnotsureifthisisanideathatexclusivelymakes
senseinmyhead,butI'llplayaroundwithit.ButthisisawaythatIcouldtrackthe
data,andthenvisuallypresentit.
